Koozhangal OTT Release Date Confirmed, Check Platform

The promising journey of this talented director continues to unfold in the world of cinema.

The Academy Awards, more commonly known as the Oscars, are the pinnacle of recognition in the film industry. To have your movie submitted for Oscar consideration is a significant acknowledgment of its quality and impact. Director PS Vinothraj experienced this profound moment when his debut directorial venture, "Koozhangal" (Pebbles), was selected as India's official entry in the Best International Feature Film category for the year 2021.

"Koozhangal" is a poignant drama film penned and helmed by PS Vinothraj. Produced under the banner of Rowdy Pictures by Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara, with a musical score by Yuvan Shankar Raja, the film garnered considerable acclaim at international film festivals. This acclaim piqued the interest of cinephiles eager to experience the movie. However, the film remained elusive on OTT platforms, until now. In a recent development, "Koozhangal" is set to make its long-awaited debut on Sony LIV on October 27th.

The film is rooted in a real-life incident close to the heart of the director. Remarkably, it was shot within a mere 30 days, with filming restricted to the narrow window between 10 AM and 3 PM, as both sunlight and the region's humid climate played pivotal roles in shaping the story. After each day's shoot, the filmmakers would gather to review the day's work, serving as inspiration for the challenges of the next.

As for PS Vinothraj's current endeavors, he is hard at work on his second feature film titled "Kottukaali." This upcoming project stars Soori and Anna Ben in leading roles and is proudly produced by Sivakarthikeyan under the banner of SK Productions. Cinematography for the film is in the capable hands of Shakthivel, recognized for his work on notable films such as "Sandakozhi 2," "Guru," "Karuppan," and "Velainu Vantha Velaikkaran." The promising journey of this talented director continues to unfold in the world of cinema.
