Boyapati's hidden agenda in showing AP CM as villain in Skanda

Earlier, Boyapati Sreenu has scored blockbusters with Nandamuri Balakrishna and their films like 'Legend' and 'Akhanda'.

Seasoned director Boyapati Sreenu seems to have a hidden agenda in having AP CM as villain in his latest offering 'Skanda'. No prizes for guessing since he has been an admirer of Nandamuri clan and has done promotional ads for former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and TDP supremo Nara Chandrababu Naidu for many years.

“Boyapati has directed over 10-odd commercials to promote Telugu Desam Party and its schemes and also boosted the image of former AP Chief Minister in his works,” says a source, who claims that Boyapati also directed Chandrababu Naidu during a documentary film of ‘Godavari Pushkaralu’ in 2015. “Boyapati was given the responsibility of shooting the documentary of the river festival. He has shot Harathi programmes on special boats instead of river banks and also shot ‘Kanakadurga Temple’ in varied angles during the spiritual fest,” he adds.

Probably, to reiterate his loyalty for TDP, Boyapati showed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister (Ajay Purkar) as a dreaded villain, who throttles his uncle to death to halt the marriage of his daughter as she elopes with her lover. He is shown delivering dialogues like a rogue than a chief minister and surely Bopayati could have scored a few brownie points as he also talks about ‘freebies’ but he didn’t have a good script to sustain interest of audience in ‘Skanda'.

Earlier, Boyapati Sreenu has scored blockbusters with Nandamuri Balakrishna and their films like 'Legend' and 'Akhanda' minted gold at the Telugu box office and catapulted Boyapati to the big league of directors.
