Tollywood actor Nikhil Siddhartha's much-awaited film Spy was released in theatres today. The film stars Iswarya Menon, Aryan Rajesh, Rana Daggubati besides Nikhil. The film is directed by Garry By.
The makers promoted the film pan-India extensively.
Spy is an action drama. There were reports that the film is based on the life of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. However, Spy's lead actor Nikhil clarified saying it is simply a patriotic movie which every Indian should watch.
SPy US premieres were held last night and the box office numbers are out. The makers have stated that the Nikhil movie collected a whopping 135K US dollars from the US premieres. These are official figures released by the makers. Spy is being dubbed as the highest-grossing movie in the US in Nikhil's career. It appears his popularity from Karthikeya 2 helped draw people to theatres.
It would be interesting to see how the movie will be received by the Indian audience.
