The biopic on late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, directed by Mahi V. Raghav of Anando Brahma fame and produced by Vijay, hit the floors in Hyderabad a couple of days ago.
Interestingly, the project has the backing of top actor Prabhas, who is a very close friend of the producer. Apparently, the actor liked the story narration so much that he told Vijay to not worry about the budget while making the film.
“Mahi and Vijay roped in many top actors for this film as they wanted to make it a big one,” says a source. They even erected a big set at a private studio in Yousufguda where they re-created YSR’s house. Meanwhile, Prabhas has assured them of all help from his side.
Mammootty is enacting YSR’s role while Ashrita Vemugandi, who played Anushka’s (Devasena) sister-in-law in Baahubali, is playing Vijayamma in this biopic. A few important scenes have already been canned.
