Yesteryear actor Krishna is credited for many “firsts” in Tollywood. His debut film Tene Manasulu was the first film to be shot in Eastman Colour. His film was also the first detective film in Telugu – Goodachari 116.
He has also introduced techniques like Cinemascope and 70 MM with Alluri Seetharama Raju and Simhasana. “I did the first cowboy film in Telugu – Mosagallaku Moasagadu,” says Krishna.
The actor now has another first. “My upcoming film Sri Sri will be the first Telugu film to release online simultaneously with theatres,” says Krishna. The online release, however, is for the rest of the world, not for India.
Directed by Muppalaneni Siva, the film is releasing on June 3. This is the golden jubilee year of Krishna as he completes 50 years as an actor. His debut film Tene Manasulu released in 1965.
