Baahubali blunders
Fans and film lovers who thronged the theatres to watch the first day first show of Baahubali 2 were in for a rude shock at various places after they realised the goof-ups of the theatre management.
A multiplex in Hyderabad that was screening the film accidentally screened the Hindi version of the epic drama instead of Telugu. It was only when fans started yelling that the management realised the goof-up and started screening the Telugu version.
In another incident in Bangalore, apparently, a multiplex screened the second half of Baahubali 2 first! By the time the unsuspecting audience realised it, the second half was done. The management eventually started screening the film again from the beginning.
In UAE, when the audiences were waiting with bated breath to see the Telugu version, the Hindi version was shown for the first 30 minutes. This act caught people in the hall off guard and after hearing their screams and complaints, the management went into damage control and started to screen the Telugu version of the film.
Film’s fate hangs in balance in TN
While Baahubali 2 fever has been gripping the nation, fans in Tamil Nadu are a disappointed lot. Apparently, the premiere and early morning shows on Friday were cancelled in Chennai and other areas of the state, leaving fans disheartened. It seems the producers did not give clearance to the distributors (K Productions) to screen the film before 11 am because the latter failed to honour the complete payment. While permission was given to screen the shows on the first day (Friday), the fate of the film’s screening continues to hang in balance. Meanwhile, since the tickets of the film were sold out for the next few days, people are demanding a refund.
Kochi release delayed
In Kochi, too, the film became a victim of a financial fiasco between the distributors and the exhibitors. Baahubali 2 was not screened in a few multiplexes because the distributors and exhibitors could not come to a consensus over revenue sharing.
Meanwhile, Accolades are pouring in
After the premiere of Baahubali 2, celebs from Tollywood started hailing the unit of the film. While the film released to packed houses in Bollywood, back home, celebs including Jr NTR, Rakul Preet Singh, Kalyan Ram, Akhil, Varun Tej, etc., have been praising S.S. Rajamouli and his team.
