Shruti Haasan paired with Hollywood actor
From Dhanush in Kollywood to Manu Narayan in New York… as far as co-stars go, Shruti Haasan seems to have made quite a long journey in her brief career.
Shruti, who will be seen with her dad Kamal Haasan in her next tri-lingual film directed by Rajeev Kumar, would have the New York-based Indian-American actor Manu Narayan as her romantic co-star in the same film.
Manu shot to fame in 2004 when he played the lead in Adrew Llloyd Webber’s Bombay Dreams (featuring A.R. Rahman’s music).
Interestingly, Manu and Shruti share a common passion for music and singing. “Why Manu?” asks Kamal Haasan. “Because he suits the character and looks well-matched with Shruti.”
Apart from Bombay Dreams, Manu has several stage dramas to his credit, across the US. He is also a singer-songwriter, composer and saxophonist. The actor has starred in Hollywood flicks such as The Love Guru and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. He has even appeared in a number of TV shows such as Unforgettable, Deception, 99 Homes and so on.
Indian audiences would also remember him as the lead protagonist in the indie romance Good Night Good Morning, that released in 2012. The casting for this film gets more interesting with every day, indeed. An official announcement on the title can be expected soon.
