I hope PK brings change in society'
In the past, actor Nithiin Reddy has reiterated several times that Pawan Kalyan has been his biggest inspiration. In fact, it was after watching PK’s Tholi Prema that Nithiin decided to become an actor. No wonder then, Nithiin is on cloud nine these days as his upcoming film, Chal Mohan Ranga, has been produced by his actor-politico idol.
An emotional moment
“After my father, I love two people; one is Pawan Kalyan and the other one is Trivikram Srinivas. When both these people came forward to do a film with me, I didn’t have any words to explain how I felt,” says Nithiin, adding, “Trivikram garu narrated this story to me but he was busy and could not direct the film. So then he suggested director Chitanya’s name. I am happy because Chaitanya is a good friend and he patiently developed the story over eight months.”
“When Pawan asked us about the story, we told him that it’s Trivikram’s. He immediately told us that he wanted to produce the project. It was an emotional moment for me because my favourite actor wanted to produce my film,” shares Nithiin.
So does he like PK only as an actor or follows his political ideology too? “I like him as an actor, but I believe that he will do good things. I don’t know much about politics, but his intentions are very good. I hope he will bring about a change in society; his political entry is definitely good for the society,” says Nithiin.
Talking about the film, the actor says that Chal Mohan Ranga is a simple love story. “There are no twists or turns in the film, it’s a simple, normal romantic love story. After Gunde Jaari Gallanthayinde, this is the second film where I have a lot of comedy scenes and my character is very energetic,” reveals the actor.
Notably, Nithiin’s last film, LIE did not perform well at the box office. Expressing his disappointment, the actor says, “The movie was good but it released on the wrong date. Three movies released at the same time and people were confused about which one to watch. It’s an intelligent film and it needed a solo release.”
On life and films
When questioned about the rumours of his affair with a girl, Nithiin says, “All those are just rumours. I am single and ready to mingle. My parents are looking for an alliance.”
The actor has completed almost 16 years in the industry. “I have learnt so much and I feel mentally strong. At the same time, there is so much competition at present and I feel that I have to deliver at least one hit every year. Earlier, if I gave three to four flops continuously, I survived because there was not much competition. But now the scenario has changed and it’s always better to choose good scripts,” he feels.
Luckily for Nithiin, there are some interesting projects lined up. “I have signed two films with Dil Raju and the shooting of one film is currently underway,” he says.
The actor has also signed films with director Venky Kudum-ula, Harish Shankar, Praveen Sattaru and another one with Chaitanya. “Harish’s film is a multistarrer and might star Sharwanand as the other actor,” he reveals.
