I weigh success and failure on the same scale: Dasarath
After a three-year gap, director Dasarath is coming up with Shourya, which will release on March 4.
The writer-turned-director has earlier made a mark with films like Santosham, Sambaram and Mr Perfect. Like his other films, Shourya too is a love story, which stars Manchu Manoj and Regina Cassandra.
“There are no action scenes in this film,” says the director, adding, “The audience always encourages films that have good content and I am confident about my upcoming film. This is a love story, but many love stories are not successful because of the parents or differences between the lovers. But in my film the reason is different and unexpected.”
The director had tasted success with his debut film Santosham (2002) starring Nagarjuna and later gave the huge hit Mr Perfect (2011) with Prabhas as the lead. Shourya is his seventh film as a director and like his other films, this one too is based on family relationships, a safe topic.
“I have seen big successes and at the same time, failures too. I always weigh the two on the same scale, so I am happy with my career,” adds the director.
Manoj plays the role of a software engineer in Shourya. “Every character has importance in the film and Manoj has two shades. You won’t understand whether he is playing a positive or a negative character. He carries it very well and most of the story has a village backdrop,” he says.
In the industry, Prabhas, Kona Venkat, V.V. Vinayak, Gopi Mohan and Manoj are his good friends. “I will definitely plan a film with Prabhas in the near future,” says Dasarath when asked about his association with the actor.
