Sharwanand is like my son, says Chiranjeevi

Sharwanand, who Chiru says is like a son to him, grew up in his house along with Charan.

At Shatamanam Bhavati’s success meet, producer Dil Raju felicitated director V.V. Vinayak, the director of his debut film Dil. He even turned emotional remembering his struggling days when he first moved to Hyderabad for work.

“I didn’t know anything about filmmaking when I began in 2003. I learnt everything from Vinayak and his support has been immense. He gave the production house its first hit. One must always remember where we have come from and who helped us in our journey,” Dil Raju said.

He asked Chiranjeevi to do the honours of felicitation. The megastar spoke highly of Raju, Vinayak, the film and all its actors, especially Prakash Raj, Jayasudha and Sharwanand.

“In the present generation, Prakash Raj is equal to S.V. Ranga Rao, who can portray any character with ease. Jayasudha is the inspiration for me to come back into films. She juggles politics and films beautifully,” says Chiranjeevi.

Sharwanand, who Chiru says is like a son to him, grew up in his house along with Charan. “He is very quiet and I had doubts about his interest in films. But when I saw him first in front of the camera for an advertisement, my doubts were cleared. Today, I am happy and proud of his success just like how I feel happy for Charan’s success,” reveals Chiranjeevi.

Apart from the cast and crew of the film, Dil Raju’s family and friends from his village, too, attended the event, as did the Ahobilam Seer, who gave his blessings to the team.
