We are not remaking ZNMD, says Adivi Sesh
Adivi Sesh will finally start shooting for his next film. The long wait was worth it, since Sesh wanted to make sure his post-Kshanam project lives up to people’s expectations.
However, he refutes rumours that his new film, to be directed by his cousin, Sai Kiran, is based on Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. “I don’t know where these rumours emerge from. Yes, it’s a coming-of-age story, but, it is not ZNMD. You can even compare it with Dil Chahta Hai, Reality Bites, Dil Dhadakne Do and ZNMD... My film belongs to that ilk. But, it’s not inspired by any one film. It’s a slice-of-life film and it’s a fresh genre for Telugu cinema. I hope the audience likes it.”
About his cousin Sai Kiran Adivi directing the film, he says, “It’s just the kind of cinema that Sai Kiran specialises in — a drama about emotions and internal conflicts.”
Shedding more light on the project, he says, “We have roped in Priyadarshi of Pelli Choopulu fame and Adith. We also have actresses Nair and Eden, both from languages other than Telugu making their debut in Tollywood. Parvathi is an award-winning Tamil actress.”
Sesh says comparisons with Kshanam are uncalled for. “Kshanam was a film that I scripted; This is completely Sai Kiran’s creation. It’s the result of two different thought processes. This film will be as different from Kshanam as Talaash was from ZNMD, although both were from the same production house.”
