South hasn't seen enough of my work: Nyrraa M. Banerji

Nyrraa M. Banerji talks about whay she's going slow in the South

Nyrraa M. Banerji has been on a roll, with web series and soap operas in Hindi. She’s receiving rave reviews for her negative character in the ongoing television series Hello Jee. Interestingly this is the first time that she’s playing a role that has grey shades.

“It gave me an opportunity to explore another side of the actor in me,” says Nyrraa. She would love to explore various roles and push herself, she shares. However, when it comes to the South, she hasn’t signed any film in the last four years. Her last film in the region was Tiger in Kannada. “Perhaps south filmmakers haven’t seen enough of my work in Hindi,” she quips, and adds that she has been getting offers but nothing interests her.

“The kind of work I do in Hindi is different from what I am offered in the South. I am a changed person and have evolved as an actor,” she says, adding that she feels the industry in the south is male-centric. South filmmakers approach actors only if the films are a hit, says Nyrraa.

“But in Bollywood it is different; everything doesn’t necessarily depend on success,” according to the actress, who is satisfied with the kind of roles she’s getting in Hindi.
