Me Time, a great way of self-discovery: Lavanya Tripathi

Actress Lavanya Tripathi enjoys her downtime

Lavanya Tripathi has been enjoying some ‘Me Time’ of late. The actress recently returned from a holiday in Goa, where she had a blast, riding a Scooty, cooking and clicking photos with her friends. And on returning to Dehradun, her hometown, she tried her hand at adventurous sports like rafting at Rishikesh.

Lavanya says all these fun activities are freeing up her mind. “Why always work? I need time to enjoy what I have earned, right?” she comments. Every time a film of hers is released, people always ask her the same question — ‘What next?’ — and this puts undue pressure on her, the actress shares, adding that she doesn’t want to sign films just because of this question.

“I was constantly working till April and had back-to-back releases. Post that we had the second lockdown. When things opened up in July, I thought of taking a break to rejuvenate,” she reveals.

“I recently read something in a book — ‘its ok to climb but it is also important to enjoy the view.’ I could instantly connect to that because I am in that phase. I have done several films and now I feel wanted to enjoy this small pause,” the actress says, and asserts that she doesn’t want to be part of the rat race.
Lavanya feels that while constantly working on various characters, actors often forget their own personality. They are always stressed, and ‘Me Time’ is an ideal way to re-discover the original self,” she says.

The actress further adds, "I like to watch films in various genres. It gives me a new dimension as an actor and makes me think differently. By watching new characters, you get to learn new things and perhaps even try and adapt a few that suit you."
