When Sai Tej took diction classes

Sai Kumar’s tips were super helpful, says actor

Sai Tej’s upcoming social drama Republic has several key scenes and the actor sought Sai Kumar’s help in getting his diction right to elevate the scenes. Apparently, during the first lockdown, when the actor and director Deva Katta, known for writing lengthy dialogues, were having a five-day script reading session, the latter came up with the idea of getting Sai Kumar on board, and Sai Kumar agreed.

“Sai Kumar garu is known as ‘dialogue king’ because of unique dialogue delivery. The command he has on the language is impeccable. Since this film has a lot of dialogues which require a lot of effort, I thought his experience would help me get my pronunciation right,” explains Sai Tej.

The actor believes that once you are prepped with your lines, you have your diction right and know which words have to be stressed, it is easy to perform on the sets. “Sai Kumar garu taught me a few things like which words need to be stressed, and how they should be pronounced. Those things helped me in uplifting key scenes,” says the Prati Roju Pandage star.

“In fact, his advice will help me in future films too by enabling me to take my character arc to the next level. I believe such lessons can’t be taught on the sets, they have to come with experience and by spending time with such actors,” reflects Sai Tej. He further expressed his gratitude to Sai Kumar for his support and to Deva Katta for writing such an intense character.
