His directorial debut in 2016, Pelli Choopulu struck a chord with the audiences and was termed a game-changer in Telugu cinema. A little over a year later, while everyone began wondering what Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam’s next film would be, the director announced that his second film would star new faces.
And the director mentions that that his new project is inspired by many of his friends. “My film is a buddy comedy. What prompted me to write this is several friends I have made over the years. We all love our families — no doubt, but friends have a special place in our lives. In fact, there are things which we can’t share with family but tend to share with out friends without hesitation. It’s that emotion which is the inspiration for my story,” he explains.
When quizzed about the cast for his film, Tharun seems excited about the number of entries that came in after the team called for auditions. “We have received over 1,100 entries. It’s really very overwhelming. At any cost, we plan to begin shooting the film by October. We will finish the shoot in 45 days,” he says.
