Comedian Shankar from the television show Jabardasth will soon be seen playing the lead role in the film Sambho Shankara, which is releasing on June 29. But the actor landed himself in trouble after criticising some of the top directors and producers at the pre-release event of the film.
“I acted in Trivikram’s film A.. Aa and it was a one-day shoot. When I requested him to produce a film with me, he said that he was busy with Agnyaathavasi and would consider me later. He even promised me a role in that film, but I didn’t get any call for it,” said Shankar about Trivikram, adding that while the ace director was making a Rs 100 crore film with Pawan Kalyan, he did not have Rs 3 crores to produce a film. “He has been in the industry for many years and yet, he doesn’t have a few crores to produce a film,” he added.
The comedian-actor also named top producer Dil Raju, and actors Ravi Teja and Allu Sirish for declining to produce a film with him on various grounds. Naturally, the actor has managed to miff some of the top names in the industry with his loose remarks.
However, Shankar clarifies, “Cinema is my bread and butter, and that’s why I requested all these people for work. Finally, producer Ramana Reddy from Nellore decided to produce my film because he likes me,” said Shankar, revealing that he looks upon Pawan Kalyan as his God.
