A Halloween-themed thriller
Vishwak Sen’s bilingual film October 31 Ladies Night, is a first for Tollywood — a Halloween-themed film. Directed by A.L. Vijay, 90 percent of the shooting of the horror thriller was completed in March before the second wave of the pandemic struck.
The technical team — directors, assistant directors, etc — who have been vaccinated will be asked to come in for the final schedule of shooting once the date is decided. “We are shooting with a very limited crew, and we don’t want to take any chances,” says producer Rajasekhar, who earlier bankrolled Tripura and the Tamil remake of Telugu film C/o Kancharapalem.
The film has four leading ladies — Megha Akash, Nievtha Pethuraj, Manjima Mohan and Reba John. “We are looking for another star actress on whom the remaining portion of the film will be shot. But whoever it is, we will request her to get vaccinated,” shares the producer.
Talking about the film, Rajasekhar explains that October 31 Ladies Night is based on Halloween, and hence the title — October 31 is when Halloween is celebrated. “A woman invites her friends to her house for a party. She wants to play a prank, but it backfires. What happens is grippingly portrayed.” he says.
