A new Nithiin
Talking about A Aa.., Nithiin says it is a typical Trivikram Srinivas film. “There is nothing new or great about the story. It’s a simple love story blended with family emotions,” says Nithiin, who plays a cook in the film. “I am a son of a single mother. Compared to my earlier 22 films, you will see a new Nithiin in this film. And it’s all because of Trivikram,” says the actor. He was supposed to work with Trivikram right after Atharintiki Daredi, but it didn’t work out then, he says. “I felt bad, but now I am happy that we finally got to do this film together,” he says.
Also, this is the first time that he attended a workshop for a film. “Before the shooting began, Trivikram and I did a workshop together. As an actor it has really helped me. Now, I have decided that I will do workshops for every film,” he reveals. Trivikram watched all his earlier films and helped him identify his negative points. “That’s why I feel my acting is completely different in this film,” he says. In real life too he has learnt a lot from Trivikram, he feels. “He is an encyclopedia. He told me so many things when I travelled with him and all that has helped me become a better person. Today, I can call him even if I have a personal problem,” reveals Nithiin.
In his 14-year-long career, the actor has gone through several bad phases. “Actually, I am just four-year-old as an actor. After my debut film in 2002, I didn’t deliver any big hits. I finally tasted success in 2012 with Ishq. From then the success streak has continued. Hence, I think my career actually started in 2012,” says the actor. The 10-year-long failure was a lesson for him. “I learnt a lot from my failures. I was young and I didn’t know much at that time and ended up choosing characters which were not suitable for me. Now, I know what type of roles suit me,” says Nithiin.
Nithiin was also the producer for Akhil’s debut film Akhil. The film tanked at the box-office. “I felt very bad and couldn’t sleep properly for four months. I was sad because I couldn’t deliver a good film for Akhil. All of us, from director Vinayak to Akhil, worked hard and we thought we had made a good film. The result is not in our hands,” says the actor, adding that he will continue to produce movies. “Probably my next film will be produced under my home banner,” he reveals.
When quizzed about his friend Samantha’s marriage and how it has become a trending topic, he says, “You can ask her about it. She hasn’t discussed her marriage plans with me,” before adding, “Everyone knows whom she is going to marry. Why ask me?” Talking about his own marriage, he says his parents have been pressurising him for the last few years. He says, “I have been constantly postponing it. I have to see how long I can keep doing that.”
