Akhil Akkineni’s third film was officially launched on Monday without any big hype. The young actor, whose first two films failed to perform commercially, hopes that he will be third-time lucky both commercially and critically. The upcoming film will be directed by Venky Atluri of Tholi Prema fame and bankrolled by B.V.S.N. Prasad.
Apparently, when Venky narrated the story to Nagarjuna, he liked it. “Nagarjuna is leaving everything on the director and told him that he wants a good result,” informs a source.
Notably, the Akkineni scion’s debut film, Akhil was a complete disaster while the second one, Hello failed at the box office but saw appreciation for his performance coming in from the critics. Both the films were helmed by top Telugu directors but failed to stand their ground.
