Nandamuri Balakrishna initiates move to promote Lepakshi site

He has released a video inviting people from across the globe to take part in the Lepakshi Festival.

ANANTAPUR: Filmstar and Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna has initiated a move to promote the historic Lepakshi site as a major tourist spot in Telugu speaking states. He has released a video inviting people from across the globe to take part in the Lepakshi Festival scheduled to be celebrated on March 31 and April 1. People from various sections on social media find the video very attractive.

The video invitation was released following a social media briefing over the exemplary sculpture and mural paintings along with temples with historic notes for many centuries. Saying that the name Lepakshi itself connects to the epic Ramayan, Mr Balakrishna observed the richness of art and culture of Lepakshi spread across the globe. "We want to boost the historic temple town through Lepakshi Utsavalu and invite art lovers from across the globe to take part in the festival," the film star turned politician invited.

Briefing over his vision to get International status to Lepakshi, Mr Balakrishna appealed to people to cooperate in bringing new charm for the temple town which had rich heritage culture. The two day long celebrations scheduled to organise on March 31 and April 1. As part of the preparations and promotion of the festival, Mr Balakrishna had recently conducted road show in Bengaluru city to invite people from Karantaka to take part in the event.
