I don't remake a film as it is: Kishore Kumari Pardasani

The director talks about Pawan Kalyan and why a film with him evokes a desire to travel with him for a long time.

Kishore Kumari Pardasani (Dolly) is on cloud nine as he recently directed Pawan Kalyan for the second time with Katamarayudu. Interestingly, his last three films (including this one) were all remakes. But it seems he doesn’t mind being stamped a remake specialist. “When I remake a film, I consider it a complete new project. I don’t remake the film as it is and make several changes by taking only the basic plot,” he says.

However, he seems to have had enough of remakes for now and won’t do another one anytime soon. “When I do these remakes, there are no restrictions or boundaries. There is freedom to make changes. In fact, for this film too, a couple of writers worked on the story,” he says. The Rao Ramesh character, for example, was not there in the original, but he added it in Katamarayudu, which is one of the highlights of the film. “We changed the entire first half from the Tamil version,” he says.

The director is looking forward to working on more films with Pawan Kalyan. “Travelling with Kalyan garu is always fascinating. He discusses many things and has an enormous knowledge. Anyone who works with him always wants to continue it further as he is a humble and simple person,” says the director.

The director also shares that he is preparing another subject for Pawan Kalyan. “Yes, I am working on the script and the subject is for him,” he reveals.
