Nivetha Thomas, who was last seen in Jai Lava Kusa, is back after nearly a year and a half with forthcoming Telugu film, 118 starring Kalyanram. Explaining the reason for her break, Nivetha says, “I was in the final year of architecture and had to submit my thesis. So, there was a lot of work on the academic side. While I could not do a film, I spent some time listening to scripts.”
Talking about the K.V. Guhan directorial, the actress says, “The story is a mix of suspense, thrill and fiction. I can’t talk much about my role but the climax is sure to surprise the audience. Also, I have dubbed my lines in Telugu for the first time.” Interestingly, Nivetha, who was earlier seen as the leading lady in romantic films like Ninnu Kori and Gentleman, has lesser screen time in 118.
Admitting that she has no qualms about it, the actress states, “It did not matter as long as I could do justice to my role.” Having worked with Jr NTR in Jai Lava Kusa, she describes Kalyanram (Jr NTR’s brother) as very humble.
“I look up to both of them as actors and individuals. They were clearly raised with a lot of respect and it’s evident in the way they carry themselves,” says Nivetha, who will next be seen in Brochevarevarura. “It is a comic caper and for the first time, I have tried my hand at comedy. The whole objective is to learn and grow as an actor with each film and turn into a director’s actor,” she concludes.
