Anju Kurian is the latest Malayalam entrant in the Telugu film industry. After working on a handful of Malayalam and Tamil films, the actress is making her Telugu debut in an untitled film directed by Anil Kumar. She is paired opposite Sumanth in the thriller.
Talking about her experience in Telugu, Anju shares, “I had got a few offers in Telugu earlier, but didn’t take them up because I was apprehensive about the language.” She adds, “But after listening to this script, I felt it would be a great launch pad for me in the Telugu film industry.”
Anju will be seen as a teacher in the film. “I play a teacher in a play school, but as the film travels, my role takes a different turn, which is what excited me to take up the project,” shares the actress, who can’t stop raving about her co-star Sumanth.
“He’s very supportive. I am new to the language, and he helped me get my lines right. He explained the meaning of the lines so that I can better express myself. It’s been a great experience working with him,” she reveals, adding, “I was floored by director Anil Kumar’s clarity of thought. Also, the crew has been so supportive that I want to do more Telugu films.”
