Anushka Shetty has proved her mettle as an artiste. The actress’s latest film, Bhaagamathie, in which she plays the sole lead, has opened to great reviews and collections on its first day.
The film collected a total of Rs 5.50 crore on the opening day, which is a big feat for Anushka and goes to prove that the Baahubali star can alone pull the masses to cinema halls. In Nizam area, the film collected Rs 2.10 crore on the first day. Directed by G. Ashok of Pilla Zamindar fame, the thriller is expected to garner an even stronger response over the weekend. Moreover, the fact that this is the only big Telugu film to hit theatres this week has also worked in Anushka’s favour.
Earlier, the trailer of the film had also managed to impress the audience.
