What upset Rajamouli?
S.S. Rajamouli, who normally appears calm and quiet, is upset that he has been misquoted in his interview with director Krish. The director actually liked the film Gautamiputra Satakarni and spoke highly of it. He even agreed to do an interview with director Krish for television channels. And when Krish’s team asked him if they could use the interview with other media people, Rajamouli agreed.
However, a Telugu newspaper published the interview as though Rajamouli had written a letter to Krish to express his appreciation for the film. This irked the director as many people on social media told him that his letter to Krish was not good for his stature. It was then that he realised that a letter was published in his name. He got very angry with Krish’s team and explained what had really happened.
“When I was asked to do an interview with Krish, I obliged because I liked GPSK and genuinely appreciated it. I was asked whether they can use the excerpts of the same interview for the print media and I agreed. But I was surprised to see that it was published as if I wrote a letter. Although the content is from the interview, the way it was phrased is a bit overdramatic. I asked Krish and waited for a clarification from his team, but it didn’t come through. My view towards the film, Krish and his team hasn’t changed. I wish the film collects even more paving way for more historicals... Just that the letters are not written by me... (sic),” wrote Rajamouli on Twitter.
