Anand Deverakonda’s upcoming film Baby is about love in modern times. Sai Rajesh, director of the film which was launched recently, says the story is based on the real-life experiences of his close friends.
“Baby is a new-age love story and the word is extensively used in the relationship between the couple, so I thought the title would be catchy,” shares the director.
“When there was no Internet during the 1990’s, love was different; although the emotion remains the same, we portray a love story that’s completely different,” he reveals.
On picking Anand as the protagonist, Sai Rajesh says the actor’s innocent looks worked in his favour. “His attitude and behaviour in real life is very down to earth and he looked composed and cool — that’s exactly how my protagonist has to be in the film. So, he was the obvious choice,” says the director.
Sai Rajesh, who has bankrolled films like Hrudaya Kaleyam, Kobbari Matta and Colour Photo, says the plot also has a suspense element.
