Telugu rights of Tamil film Pottu sold for one Crore

The film is titled Bottu in Telugu and has been bought by N.K.R. Films.

The Telugu rights of Tamil horror film Pottu, which features Bharath, Namitha, Iniya and Srushti Dange, have been sold for a whopping one crore! While Vadivudayan is directing the film, touted to be a spine-chilling thriller, Amreesh’s songs are already a hit.

John Max, one of the producers who is bankrolling the project under their banner Shalom Studios, confirmed the news. “NKR Films that released films like Vijay Antony’s Annadurai (Indrasena) has bought Pottu (titled Bottu in Telugu) for a huge price. Apparently, the multi-starrer was made on a big budget. There’s close to an hour of fascinating CG work in the film as well. And these stars are equally known in Tollywood too.”

When asked about the price it has fetched, he said, “There’s a demand for well made horror films among Telugu audiences and they prefer watching films only in theaters. Our earlier film Sowcarpettai, a horror thriller starring Srikanth and Raai Laxmi, fetched me a good price in Telugu and was well received too.”
