The recently released Telugu super hit Gaddalakonda Ganesh, which stars Varun Tej and Tamil actor Atharva in a pivotal role, was the Telugu debut of the latter. Buoyed by the buzz Atharva garnered in Telugu, one of his Tamil films, Boomerang, will now be released in Telugu. Producer and distributor Ch. Satish Kumar has decided to bankroll the Telugu version.
“One of the reasons I am bringing it to the Telugu audience is because of the universal plotline. Boomerang touches upon current social themes like interlinking of rivers, the need to embrace farming, etc. I believe the subject will strike a chord with the Telugu audience too,” explains producer Satish, adding, “At a time I wanted to make a film that reflects social issues, I saw Boomerang and felt it would be apt subject to be told.”
