Debuting with mysteries
Senior actor Venkatesh sounded the clap board at the launch of director B. Shiva Kumar’s film 22, and an emotional Shiva Kumar remembered how he had grown up watching Venkatesh’s films. “It’s very kind of him to come and grace the launch of my directorial debut,” he said.
The film 22, whose regular shooting will commence from this month-end, is a murder mystery and has Rupesh Kumar Choudhary and Saloni Mishra in lead roles.
“One of my biggest strengths is my writing. And while I was preparing the script, I realised that the story will definitely drive the audience to the edge-of-the-seat. I also want to thank Maa Aai Productions for backing this project,” explains Shiva, who states he was inspired to get into the showbiz because of his filmmaker mother, Jaya. He started off his career by assisting in her films and went on to work under filmmaklike V. V. Vinayak, Puri Jagannadh and Maruti.
“I have learnt a lot working under these renowned filmmakers, so naturally their influences on me might show, but I am aware that the challenge for me will also be to stay different,” he says, signing off.
