National Award winning director Rajesh Touchriver’s next film Patnagarh 23 Feb 2018 is based on a true incident that happened in Odisha earlier this year, when a bomb blast killed a young software engineer.
The film is based on the story of a newly married couple who received a gift box five days after their marriage which turned out to be a bomb and killed the husband and his aunt. The wife was grievously injured and the blast sent shockwaves through the city.
Director Rajesh Touchriver has gathered some of the finest actors to work in this film. Atul Kulkarni, who is popular both in Hindi and Telugu cinema, is playing an important role along with Tanikella Bharani and Malayalam actor Sanju Sivaram. A few Odia actors have also been roped in for the film.
Meanwhile, popular Telugu music director R.P. Patnaik, who originally hails from Odisha, is making his debut in the Odiya film by composing a Sambalpur folk song. The makers are planning to release the film during the coming Dasara festival.
