Harinath in a covert operation

Talking about his next project, Harinath says he is planning a period drama.

All set to hit the screens on June 28, Captain Rana Pratap will see Harinath playing the lead character of the film, which is also directed and produced by him. The film is about a covert operation. “China had taken a village called Vagar in Pakistan’s Beluchistan on lease and then developed it into a sea port and brought its military to save the port, all of which is in the papers. I developed my story around this issue and on how India did a covert operation on it,” says Harinath, who wrote the story two years ago and did a lot of research on the subject. “It was talked of in the newspapers, so I gathered everything I could about it,” says the actor, who also met a few retired military officers and officials to extend his research.

Most of the film’s shoot happened in Ramoji Film City and at Krishnapatnam Port. “Some of the action scenes are shot in the Vikarabad forest and they’ve come out very well,” adds Harinath. Senior actor Suman is also playing an important role in the film.

Talking about his next project, Harinath says he is planning a period drama. “Everyone knows about the Razakar movement when the Nizam was ruling. My next film is about Qasim Razvi who was also known for his cruel acts. It is about how a family suffered because of him and what they did in return. I am looking for a good director to handle this subject,” says Harinath, signing off.
