The city was abuzz with rumours of superstar Nagarjuna’s younger son Akhil Akkineni being engaged. While sources say “the news is bang on”, Akhil chose not to confirm it. Says Akhil, “You’ve heard I am engaged? Umm... Not yet... I’ve introduced the girl I’m seeing to my parents.”
Choosing not to name the girl in public for now, Akhil says, “She’s a family friend. I’ve known her for a long time. She’s very far removed from the public glare, so I’d like to keep her away from the media for as long as I can.”
Akhil, who dotes on his parents, says he’d do nothing to offend them. “My parents are super chilled-out. But not all families are like mine. So some protocol has to be followed. You see, Telugu families are quite formal about certain things.”
Well, since Akhil wants to keep his fiancé away from the public glare, we’ll respect his wish, but the girl he’s engaged to is a smart, very good-looking young girl from the city. She’s an upcoming designer, educated in New York. Her family and Akhil’s parents have been friends for ages.
