What is Krish Jagarlamudi’s next move going to be?
Accomplished Telugu director Krish Jagarlamudi is still hurting after the blow he was dealt during the making of Manikarnika. To add to his woes, he had managed scarcely to recover from the mess that his NTR biopic had put him in as it underperformed at the box office.
As a result, Krish is now treading with the caution of a trapeze artist walking on glass. “I’m working on several ideas. Various scripts are very gradually shaping up. However, it would be premature to talk about my next film at this point as I haven’t really decided yet what it’s going to be about.”
What about the reports that claimed you were doing a film in Hindi? “I haven’t narrowed down on a language for my next film because there is no ‘next film’. People publishing such reports are simply hoping to hit the bull’s eye in the dark. I need to be careful with my next film. There are way too many people out there who are waiting to watch me make another wrong move,” he explains.
So, have you sworn off making biopics after Manikarnika?
“Not particularly. One failure can’t nullify the success of my other costume dramas like Kanche and Gautamiputra Satakarni. For all we know, my next film could be a costume drama. Or it can be a contemporary drama with a message like Gabbar Is Back?” he said. The dispute between him and Kangana Ranaut and her sister over Manikarnika seems to have scarred the soft-spoken director, and it looks like he needs some more time to get over it. “I don't want to talk about it. I wish them all the luck,” Krish concluded.
