Ampasayya to be released in four languages
The famous Telugu novel Ampasayya (1969), written by Naveen, is being made into a film – Campus Ampasayya.
Prabhakar Jaini is directing the film, it revolves around a student who comes to study in Osmania University from a village. “The novel is very popular. For the last three years we were planning to make a movie out of it and finally we did it. It has come out very nicely and we are planning to release it in June,’’ says Prabhakar.
He adds that the film’s content is not limited to a particular place, so he is releasing it in other languages as well. “Yes, we are planning to dub it in Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil,” says Prabhakar. “There are a lot of human emotions in this film and it relates to everyone, so we are releasing it in other languages,” he says.
This was the first Telugu film shot in Osmania University. “We have also shot the film in Narsapur's forest area and the famous Ramappa temple in Warangal. We have adapted the novel in a neat way; it is a screenplay-based film which narrates the incidents that take place in the life of a villager who has come to study in Osmania,” says Prabhakar.
