Kalyaan Dhev, the son-in-law of Chiranjeevi, has signed his second Telugu project. Puli Vasu, who has directed a couple of TV serials, will take on the director’s mantle with Kalyaan’s project. Though the female lead has not yet been announced, shooting is expected to begin soon.
Interestingly, the same Puli Vasu was supposed to make his directorial debut with a film starring Sudheer Babu and Mehreen, but that project fell through.
“Sudheer Babu’s film was officially launched some time back, but the makers felt that the budget of the film was too high. Sudheer has since moved on to another film and may come back to this project later,” says a source.
There are other sources, who say that the director narrated the same subject that was supposed to be done by Sudheer to Kalyaan Dhev, and the latter agreed to do the film. Rizwan, who was supposed to produce the Sudheer film with Puli, is now producing this Kalyaan film with the same director. The film will also feature senior actors like Rajendra Prasad, V.K. Naresh and Posani in supportive roles. Having been named earlier for the Sudheer Babu project, actress Mehreen may also be shifted to this one to play the lead.
