Avoid Lies To Win Elections: C Kalyan Tells Dil Raju

Noted producer C Kalyan rubbished the claims of his rival and producer Dil Raju that their team accomplished a lot in the Telugu Film Producers Council.

“Dil Raju avoid making false claims to attract voters in the upcoming presidential elections for the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce to be held on July 30,” says C Kalyan.

He claims that Dil Raju was only interested in expanding his interests more than other producers.

“As the vice president of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, you just attended 3 meetings and only to resolve your own issues. Like hiking ticket rates for star-studded movies while your producers' guild has eaten into the revenues of the Telugu Film Producers Council. We were the ones who proposed a Rs 5 lakh medi claim for hundreds of producers, so claiming it as yours is unfair,” he informs.

C Kalyan also noted that Dil Raju and the team are trying to take over trade bodies for a reason. “You and your team are not contesting elections to serve poor and struggling producers and take care of their welfare, instead only to push the agenda of wealthy producers’. For instance, you promised to charge nominal rent for small films in your theatres but you failed to do so. Even today, small producers are finding it difficult to get few theatres for their movies because you have discarded them,” he points out.

Whereas, he claims that his panel member Prasanna Kumar was always ready to extend a helping hand to hapless producers. “Prasanna Kumar is always there for small producers, even during Covid times. Helpless producers could reach out to him even during midnights, while your team avoids their calls. Hence we are the best bet for small producers and we hope 1200-odd producers will think wisely before casting their vote. Actually, producers of content-based and non-star films, face a lot of hiccups from producing the film to distributing it and then in getting theatres. With our negotiating skills and might, we will safeguard their interests every time,” he adds.

On Dil Raju’s claims that Telugu cinema has won Oscars, he adds, “Producer of Oscar-winning ‘RRR’, DVV Danayya is not even in your panel, so why to talk about Academy awards,” he concludes.
