Director Sekhar Kammula, who hasn’t enjoyed success at the Tollywood box office in a while, is elated with the success of his latest release, Fidaa. “I guess what worked in favour of the romantic drama was the chemistry between the hero and heroine and the authenticity of the plotline,” he beams.
Interestingly, the film has also come like a breath of fresh air for the protagonist too. “I felt that a youngster like Varun would be apt for the love story because it suits his body language and personality, also he hasn’t done a subject like this before,” the director reasons. He adds, “I saw Sai Pallavi’s performance in Premam, and felt she could pull off the female lead, and she indeed did it with elan.”
