'This should not be linked to her image': Rakul on Kajal's manager's arrest
Kajal Aggarwal’s manager’s arrest for possession of drugs has sent shockwaves across Tollywood. Actors are at a loss for words, don’t know how to react to this as “their manager” is supposedly the one person who they trust immensely to handle their profession.
Rakul Preet Singh says she’s scared now. “I am in London for my film’s shooting, I don’t know the exact story. But when a manager or a friend or anybody you know personally is accused of doing something wrong, it’s scary,” says Rakul.
She also feels it isn’t fair to drag the actress, in this case Kajal, into the personal life of another person. “What anybody does in their personal life is up to them. We can’t keep track of them. This should not be linked to the actress’ image,” she adds.
Mahendra, Samantha’s manager, feels managers should be more cautious. “As a celebrity manager, I believe we should be more responsible. If we do something wrong, it automatically spoils the actor’s reputation. At the same time, celebrities too should do background checks before they hire someone,” he says.
Actor Lavanya Tripathi shares the same sentiment.
“We obviously maintain a good relationship with the people we work with on a daily basis. What they do in their personal lives is none of my business, just like they wouldn’t care about my personal life,” she says.
She’s also disturbed with the way Kajal Aggarwal’s image is being affected. “When they flash our pictures alongside the picture of the accused, many won’t even know what it’s about. They’ll see the word drugs on one end and our images on the other and will be quick to judge,” she says.
Kajal clarifies on twitter
“I am absolutely shocked and appalled about this whole incident with Ronni. I’m in zero support of this and any behavior that is
detrimental to the hygiene of our society. Having said that, just because I care for people who run errands for me does not imply that I can control their personal lives/choices. My parents have always managed my career and with everyone else from my industry, I share an extremely professional/cordial relationship. I’m unaware of their whereabouts and activities once their professional duties with regards to me are completed (sic).”
