When NTR slapped his son Balakrishna

The actor also tells us about another scene in which he had tried walking like his father, which got him into trouble with his dad.

Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna has acted in nearly 105 films till now. The actor’s debut film Tatamma Kala was directed by none other than his father N.T. Rama Rao. He reveals an interesting incident that happened while shooting the film.

“I was supposed to cry for a scene in which my grandmother dies. My father explained the scene to me and asked me to cry. I, in turn, asked him why I should cry because our grandmother was alive and good then. Even as I was speaking, he suddenly slapped me which made me cry. He immediately shouted ‘action’ and the camera began rolling,” reveals Balakrishna, adding that the scene turned out to be rather realistic.

The actor also tells us about another scene in which he had tried walking like his father, which got him into trouble with his dad.

“He asked me to walk for a scene and I walked like him. That was the time when dad’s walk from his film Nindu Manasulu had become quite the rage and it kept coming back to me, so I began walking like that,” recalls Balakrishna, chuckling. Now, Balakrishna wants to direct a film in the near future as he believes it’s not so difficult. “If you look at films directed by great directors like B.N. Reddy, K.V. Reddy, K. Viswanath and my father N.T. Rama Rao and how they created each scene, I wonder if you really need any film course to get into direction,” says Balakrishna as he signs off.
