We’ve all known former cricket Azharuddin’s Bollywood connections but it was a bit of a surprise to see him on the sets of Telugu film Akatayi. The low-budget film made with newcomers is directed by a debutant Rom Bhimana.
During the film’s media brief on Wednesday at a private studio near Ameerpet, Azhar was seen chatting with actress Ameesha Patel who is doing a special song in this film.
The actress was supposed to come to the sets in the morning, but she came around four in the evening. “Ameesha and the former Indian Cricket captain were spotted at the hotel and that’s the reason for her delay,” says a source.
At the media brief, Ameesha, who debuted with the Hindi blockbuster film Kaho Na Pyar Hai said, “I made my Telugu debut with another blockbuster Badri and after that, I acted with the finest actors like Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR and Balakrishna. I had a fantastic time here in Telugu Cinema and now, I am coming back with this film.”
While the actress was speaking to the media, the cricketer sat in her caravan and asked the photographers to refrain from clicking his pictures. The source said that the actress was paid nearly Rs 25 lakhs for this special song.
