Guess How Much is Rajinikanth\'s Advance Remuneration For Movies

Not many know that Rajinikanth doesn\'t like to burden his producer with hefty advances.

Despite being one of the biggest stars in India, superstar Rajinikanth doesn't follow fancy path of his colleagues. He doesn't like to burden his producer with hefty advances, rather just takes mere Rs 1016 as token advance to join shooting of his new film. "Rajinikanth is old fashioned in terms of treating his producers with some respect and dignity. Even though producers are willing to pay him Rs 30 or 40 cr advance amount considering his craze and popularity and above all his massive business range, he prefers nominal advance to cut burden on the producer, " says a source from Chennai..

Despite his last release "Jailer " shattering box office records by garnering over Rs 500 crores and surpassing big hits like 'Vikram' and "Ponniyin Selvan', he hasn't changed any of his habits and likes to go on with his hassle free remuneration path."He would rather take 33% share of the total business of the film. That would roughly works out to Rs 200 crores since his movies sell like hot cakes across the world. By this way, he gets his due share and producer could spend lavishly on the film without compromising and deliver a richly made action adventure, he adds.

With the remunerations of a few Tamil stars like Vijay and Ajith going above Rs 120 crore each, they should consider a share in film business over fancy pay cheques to give room for producer to make a richly-crafted film. "Stars have to think about share over pay and also cut down advance amount to minimum to leave more cash in the hands of producer and director to dish out a visually pleasing entertainer to satisfy the fans of respective stars as well as general audience. So it's a win win for both superstars and producers," he concludes.
