There has been a major rejig in the lead cast of Mahesh Babu-starrer Guntur Kaaram. Initially Pooja Hegde was roped in as a leading lady while Sreeleela was penned to play the second lead. But a few days ago things changed dramatically. Pooja had exited from the Trivikram Srinivas directorial and the quest for a replacement was on.
The filmmakers didn’t waste any time. They have cast Meenakshi Chaudhary for the action drama. However, she plays the second lead while Sreeleela has been elevated to the leading lady role. Buzz is that Meenakshi has already joined the unit and commenced shooting for her part in Hyderabad.
Meenakshi was lauded for her performances in Khiladi and Hit: The Second Case. She’s also doing a film opposite Vishwak Sen, and bagging Mahesh’s film will be a huge breakthrough for the actress.
