Prashanth Neel pockets Rs 100 cr pay for Salaar?

After massive success of 'KGF, Kannada director's ratings are going upwards

If reliable sources are to be believed, hotshot director Prashanth Neel has reportedly pocketed Rs 100 crore as remuneration for his work in ‘Salaar’ (Part 1: Ceasefire), highest for a Kannada director in recent times. “Prashanth Neel would be the first Kannada director to take home Rs 100 crore pay since his stocks are soaring high and rocking,” says a producer and adds, “Somebody reaching magic figure of Rs 100 after four films is a record by itself, thanks to pan-India success of ‘KGF and KGF2’ which catapulted him to the big league and draw fancy pay,” he adds.

Already, Prashanth Neel has attained cult status in Karnataka and had life size cutouts of him in Bangalore and other centres. “Prashanth is adored by Kannadigas since he brought name and respect for Kannada film and he has become a sought-after filmmakers in south,” he points out. Prashanth is matching up with top Bollywood and Tollywood directors in dishing out star-studded action films with ease. “His back and forth screenplay, hero elevations and nicely captures the brooding anger of his heroes and makes them invincible and it works wonders for him,” he adds.

No doubt, Prashanth Neel started off with relatively smaller films like ‘Ugram’ but his joining hands with action hero Yash and their combination delivering two massive hits-KGF and KGF2- changed his life. “In a video, Prabhas claimed that he got a call from Prashanth for a big ticket film. He in turn called up his favorite director Rajamouli who asked him to go ahead with Prashanth without thinking twice,” he concludes.
