Em Chesthunav: A Relatable Emotional Drama For Youngsters

Lately, there have been quite a good number of films that have come up with different concepts, young talent and fresh faces that can tell us stories in a much better way. Em Chesthunav is one such films that has something to offer for every youngster. The film hit the screens today and here’s the review.

Story:
This film is all about a an engineering graduate Sai, struggling to figure out what to do next. While Sai wants to pursue something he's passionate about, his father wants him to bag a government job for security reasons. Unlike other engineering graduates, Sai stays at home, helps his mother with household chores, and his father with daily errands. Sai is annoyed at the way society looks at engineering. Students who don't have a job yet. He is not okay with the fact that everybody keeps asking him what he's up to and why he hasn't got a job yet. Everybody asks him 'Em Chesthunav' which loosely translates into 'What are you doing?' And this is a targeted query on his career and job.

In the middle of all this chaos, Sai meets Nakshatra, with whom he falls in love. But soon, things turn bitter, and reality hits him hard. Will Sai pursue his passion or get a secured job bogged down by the pressures of the society? This is something you have to watch on the big screen.


Performances:
A youngster called Vijay Raj Kumar has played the role of Sai and Neha Pathan plays the role of Nakshtra. Both the aspiring actors have done a good job and put in their best efforts to shine. But it's understandable that they are newbies, and need to pick up the nuances of acting to perform better. Aamani plays Sai's mother on screen and is a perfect fit. Rajiv Kanakala has played a pivotal role in this film and his performance is outstanding.

The visuals of the film are a feast to the eyes. The background score elevates emotional scenes in the film.

Analysis:
The producers of the film have spent good amount on the making of the film and leave no stone unturned in terms of production quality.

The director, Bharath Mitra, has come up with a really good concept, but it the screenplay and narrative could have been more impactful as this is a story which many youngsters can relate to. The film manages to entertain you in bits and pieces. There are a few scenes and dialogues, which makes you empathise with the hero's plight.

Em Chesthunav has a strong message to the audience. With a tight screenplay, the movie could have left a greater impact on the audience.

Verdict:
Em Chesthunav is a relatable emotional drama for youngsters.
