Payal Rajput’s posts on social media get a lot of traction. My second name is ‘viral’, she laughs. Her latest photos of a slimmer self have taken fans and filmmakers by surprise. The actress says she has come down from 63 kilos to 56 in one month, and reveals that she has been getting many appreciative messages from filmmakers.
“Being a Punjabi, I have the tendency to put on weight quickly if I eat a bit more,” she confides. “The weight loss is for a role in a Telugu film (Kannada remake) where I play a girl in acute poverty. Losing weight for a role is something I am doing for the first time. In fact, ever since I shifted to Hyderabad I lost weight because I have been following a disciplined food chart,” explains the RX100 actress. She also shares that she has been following the Intermittent Fast (IF) regime.
“My trainer introduced me to IF; it’s a great programme where I eat only from 1 PM to 8 PM in a day, apart from doing yoga and basic workouts. I had not realised that losing weight makes an actor feel so refreshed and healthy,” she says, adding that being fit is her priority.
Ever since Payal saw Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor turning into Size Zero for her film Tashan, she wanted to emulate her. “I always wanted to be like that — just be fit and not too skinny,” she signs off.
