Vijay Sethupathi in Chiranjeevi's upcoming film
A sensation in Tamil cinema, actor Vijay Sethupathi is making his debut in Telugu cinema with a key role in Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, a biopic on Telugu freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. It is now learnt that the actor will be playing a British guard in the film.
“Vijay’s character will have an interesting transition from a negative shade to positive. While he starts off opposing the freedom fighter, he eventually lends his support to him. The actor was approached nearly a month ago to be a part of the film and agreed almost immediately. He was excited that he’d be sharing screen space with a legendary figure like Chiranjeevi,” shares a source.
Meanwhile, the team has announced the principal cast of the film, and several interesting names are featured on the list. Actors from various film industries like Amitabh Bachchan, Sudeep, Nayanthara and even Ravi Kishen have all been roped in to play key roles. A. R. Rahman, who rarely does Telugu films, will be scoring music for the film that is being directed by Surender Reddy. Ram Charan is producing the film, which is Chiranjeevi’s 150th project.
