Vasu Mantena back in action

Vasu believes that the novel, which talks about the relationship between men and women, will be a contemporary theme to explore.

Four years after making his directorial debut with the Telugu film, Basti (2015), Vasu Mantena is back in action. The filmmaker is now geared up to make a bilingual film, an onscreen adaptation of one of India’s most well-known authors, Khushwant Singh’s novel, The Company of Women. Interestingly, director Chandra Siddharth will be bankrolling the film.

Vasu believes that the novel, which talks about the relationship between men and women, will be a contemporary theme to explore. A source informs, “Vasu believes that the novel would make for a great watch if it’s adapted onscreen appropriately. He further believes that the novel’s theme has a potential to be a box-office winner. After he bought the rights to the novel, he has been working on the script ever since.”
