Rumour has it that actress Bhumika Chawla will be seen playing Y.S. Sharmila in Yatra, a biopic based on late Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhar Reddy. But Mahi, the director of the film, says that the rumours are not true.
It has been known for a while now that Mammootty will play YSR and Rao Ramesh will play K.V. P. Ramachandra Rao in the film. Mahi is reportedly in the process of roping in actors for other parts, but no one has been confirmed as yet.
Regarding rumours that Bhumika has been signed to play Jagan’s sister, Sharmila, the director simply says, “She is not in the film.”
Shooting for the film is scheduled to begin in the second week of June. Mammootty has already allotted dates, in bulk, for the shoot. The director is now looking to finalise actors to play two important roles YSR’s wife Y.S. Vijayalakshmi, and his son Jaganmohan Reddy.
