The sports drama seems to be the most popular genre in Tollywood now. We hear that director Ravikanth Perepu of Kshanam fame is penning a script for a film based on basketball.
Confirming the news, producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi, who is bankrolling the project, says that the film is still in the nascent stage. “We were impressed with the script; moreover, since it is around basketball, we believe that it has great potential to be told on a big canvas,” he shared, adding that the script work was currently underway.
Vamsi, who also produced the Nani-starrer Jersey expressed happiness that the film had won a National Award. “I guess all the hard work has paid off,” he said, adding that the team had always believed in the film’s script. “Jersey is a sports drama based on cricket. But putting aside the game, the human emotion is what touched everyone,” he revealed.
