Everything I do, I do it with a passion, says Ester Noronha

Actress Ester Noronha, who took a break to complete her education, speaks about her future projects her singing talent and her Konkani film.

Ester Noronha made her Tollywood debut in 2013 with 1000 Abaddalu, followed by Bheemavaram Bullodu in 2014. The actress, who then took a break, is now back with director Boyapati and Bellamkonda Srinivas’ upcoming film. Ester says that she took a break to complete her post graduation.

“I was still studying when I did 1000 Abaddalu and Bheemavaram Bullodu. Suddenly, it seemed like acting was going to stay and I wasn’t prepared for it as I was in my final year of graduation, which was very important for me. So, I focused on my studies and completed the MA in Political Science from the University of Mumbai last year, which was my actual dream and plan” she says. The actress had earlier made plans to prepare for the Civil exams. “I want to. I guess time will reveal whether I will be able to fulfil that dream or not. I completed my masters for that only,” she shares.

For now, the actress has signed on films, that too in multiple languages. “Now, that I am mentally relieved and prepared to get back to work, I have started taking up projects,” Ester says, adding that when she got the offer from Boyapati, she was initially reluctant, but was struck by the story and role. “Just when I was open to meeting people and going through scripts, I received a call from Boyapati Srinu’s office asking me to p lay a role in his upcoming project. I have seen his work and he is as a great director and was happy to be considered for the film,” says the actress.

Though Ester is not the female lead in the film, she says she still liked the subject. “I have never been part of a project where I haven’t played the leading lady, but after the narration of my role and assurance by the director, I decided to put my faith in him and took it up. I have been having a good time so far,” she admits.

Ester reveals that she is playing one of the lead actresses in another movie, with considerable amount of work. “I am not supposed to reveal anything more than that yet,” she says about her role. Apart from this, the actress shares, “I am also doing the directorial debut of Kranthi, who has assisted S.S. Rajamouli. It is an interesting film with an amazing script and performance scope for me. I am having a great time working for that film too.”

Not just Telugu, Ester is also busy with Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, Marathi and Konkani films. “I am doing two Kannada movies, one Hindi, one Marathi and am active in the Konkani industry too, as Konkani is my mother tongue and predominant in Goa and Mangalore,” she says. Apart from acting, Ester also sings and proudly says that she was part of the Konkani film which featured in the Oscar list and also bagged several national and international awards.

“I am a professional singer and sang a song in that musical, so, I feel proud to be a part of that award-winning film,” she says. She is also acting in another Konkani film, produced by her mother and titled Sophia – A dream girl. Ester says, “I do live music shows and tours around the world once or twice in a year,” adding, “I would love to sing for Telugu movies since I am fluent with the language. I can also sing a few Telugu songs of different movies which I hear on the radio.”

According to her, she feels good juggling between several film industries. “I love this. I don’t feel like it’s ‘juggling’ or like I have to manage. I am just going with the flow and giving my best shot to the opportunities given to me. I am an artist at heart and everything I do, I do with a passion,” she signs off.
